Restaurant nights feed you and our bank
What are restaurant fundraisers? Restaurant fundraisers are simple. You have to eat. We need to earn some funds.![]()
Each restaurant has different rules for eligible purchases, so check with the Alliance if you are unsure.
Generally, you get a coupon from us. You take the coupon and present it when you order during hours of our fundraiser and get some delicious dinner. The restaurant then gives the Alliance a percentage of sales for that time.
The percentage varies by restaurant, but no matter how big or small the donation, it’s a win-win situation for all.
When are these fundraisers? Check our calendar listing in this newsletter or log on to our Web site.
We also try to use the HCVN’s Channel 10 and the Hutchinson digital board, when possible. If you see one is coming up, call us to make sure you have a coupon to present when ordering.
The next fundraiser scheduled:
Tuesday, December 8 All business hours at Papa Murphy’s (No coupon necessary.) The Alliance receives 20% of profits all day! Enjoy Pizza and support McLeod Alliance!
Wells Fargo program can help Alliance
Homeowners looking to refinance their mortgage with Wells Fargo can improve their bottom line while giving a charitable donation to the McLeod Alliance.
Juanita Estrada, a Wells Fargo mortgage consultant in Hutchinson, can help customers give some bucks to McLeod Alliance.
Estrada said Wells Fargo’s Sharing Advantage program offers qualifying financing customers with an opportunity to give a $300 donation to the nonprofit organization of their choice.
“This is Wells Fargo’s way to give back to the community,” Estrada said. “It comes straight from Wells Fargo. This doesn’t cost the customer anything.”
For more information about Wells Fargo’s Sharing Advantage Program, call Juanita Estrada at (320) 587-5777.
Don’t forget to crunch cans for a cause
What is cans for a cause? Recycled aluminum cans can earn cash for the Alliance. When you drop off your cans at the Hutchinson Redemption Center, let them know you want the cash donated to McLeod Alliance. The Alliance gets a check once a year from these donated cans!
Recycling bin at Shopko nets funds for Alliance
During October, a blue recycling bin was placed in the Hutchinson Shopko parking lot. McLeod County Solid Waste Management donated the bin for the second year in a row as a way to assist the Alliance in fundraising and honoring October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Aluminum cans were collected in the bin for the entire month. Executive Director Jo Piehl received a check in November for $137.60.
A big heartfelt thank you to McLeod County Solid Waste Management and to all those who donated their cans for our cause.
Local Printer Donates envelopes inserted into newsletter
Each quarterly Safety Net Newsletter contains a preprinted envelope for those wishing to donate to the McLeod Alliance. As a nonprofit, the Alliance works hard to make sure that a majority of our money is spent on client needs. So it was a great relief to the Alliance when Crow River Press agreed to donate the printing of 4,000 envelopes. This donation saves the Alliance hundreds of dollars, so thank you Crow River Press!

CRUNCH CANS FOR OUR CAUSE
Many thanks to Piehl, Hanson, Beckman in Hutchinson for collecting cans in their office and donating the proceeds to the Alliance. We have received more than $88. Doesn’t sound like a lot?
That money will buy us printer ink cartridges, gas cards for a client or groceries for a client and her children. It all adds up, and you can help out by collecting cans in your office. Here is how it works:
- Collect your aluminum cans and take them to McLeod County Solid Waste Redemption Center on 1065 5th Ave. S.E., Hutchinson (or if you want, bring the cans to us and we’ll combine them with our office collection!)
- Let the employees there know you want your can redemption cash to go to the McLeod Alliance, a nonprofit organization. They will take your crushed or uncrushed cans and send us the cash.
For more information, call us at (320) 234-7933 or toll free at 1-800-934-0851. To check the current rate of aluminum can, call (320) 234-4346. They will give you the current price per pound of aluminum. Thank you for your support!
